Counselling/Psychotherapy

Online and in person psychotherapy for individuals.

I am a registered social worker and psychotherapist currently living in the Waterloo region and practicing psychotherapy across Ontario. I specialize in helping people identify the unhelpful thoughts, emotional responses, and behaviour patterns that hold them back from living the life they want to live. In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative, accepting, skills building approach that will help you feel better in your daily life and healthier in your relationships.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from several evidence-based therapies and embodied, somatic practices to tailor our sessions to your specific needs and goals. My sincere hope is that you will also develop a deeper connection to your own inner wisdom and felt sense of wellbeing.

Whatever has you struggling and feeling stuck, I can help. I look forward to connecting with you!

Grant’s Bio:

Grant holds a Master’s of Social Work degree, and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers; he also holds a PhD in the History and Philosophy of Religion. He is passionate about using the tools and wisdom from psychotherapy, clinical psychology, philosophy, and the wisdom traditions in order to facilitate the healing of psychological wounds and the making of life affirming changes.

With over five years of clinical experience, Grant has supported clients in overcoming mental health barriers that have kept them from building, and living, the lives they want. He uses various psychotherapies to provide clients with a better understanding of what is keeping them stuck, and skills they can use (right away) to start moving towards what they want.

Grant will provide you with an accepting and non-judgemental space where you can say important things that might be hard to say elsewhere – and will work collaboratively and creatively with you in addressing the things that matter to you and serve your interests. He understands how painful it can be when there is a gap between the life you have and the one you want, and how frustrating it can be when you don’t know how to change things, or feel like you cannot change them. He too has known this pain and frustration, but also knows that transformation is always possible. Grant will believe in you – in the transformation that you will make – and will do everything he can to facilitate this.

When not working Grant loves to write, read/study, meditate, hike, bike, swim, cook, and be with his partner and family.
